The periodontist is a dentist who focuses solely on the diagnosis of periodontal conditions. This refers to gum problems that affect the teeth and molars. Periodontitis is a common condition treated within periodontology. Periodontitis is a disease that affects the gums and attacks the bone surrounding one or more teeth. This begins with inflamed gums and can cause permanent damage.<\/p>\n
